SPECIAL MOMENTS
A 12-YEAR OLD BLONDE-HAIRED GIRL COMES INTO OUR BOOTH and asks "Have you seen a lady wearing a Super-Heinz T-shirt." I looked up at her. I just could not resist this one.
"No, but you had better Ketch-Up with her." Didn't get it.

DON'T GET HOOKED ON PENNY AUCTIONS You could lose a lot of money on the one of the latest gimmicks to hit the Internet. Been watching TV these past few days and saw ads for two 'penny auctions.' Beezid.com and snaglo.com These are auctions where you can 'win' items dirt cheap. Stay away from these. You can lose a lot of money buying bids. On these sites you buy bids for something between .40 and .80 and place your bids for the items that you want. ![]() For instance. the IPAD retails for $899 (on one of the sites) and I have seen a winning bid of around $27.00. Bids are incremented by .01 every time a bid is placed. So that means that 2700 bids were placed at a cost of around .60 +or- each. The auction site has made $1620 for the item which normally sells for $899. Just an example. Their profit margins are much higher on many items. There are perhaps dozens of people making bids at the same time and quite often, there are schills or company employees bidding the items up. However, there are indeed people out there getting fantastic prices on these auctions and they will all claim how great it is. How about those that buy hundreds upon hundreds of dollars in bids and win nothing. please click here to read more on penny auctions |
Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival
![]() April 24-25, 2010. Event was held at Memorial Park in Cupertino. One of the nicest settings for an event you could find. However, the dynamics of this show have changed over the year's due to the declining economy and a large number of vendor's have disappeared. Please read my review. |

SNIFFING DOGS were numerous throughout the day as they would run up to one another and...well, you know. But I didn't see any large dogs. They were all under a foot tall.... and some of them dressed up like they were going to be in an Easter parade. Or, maybe they marched in the parade during the morning. I'm wondering how come there weren't any larger dogs. Where are they? |
|
Seriously, I saw maybe 20 dogs today and they were all little pooches. Where did the big ones go? I know the economy is bad, butt....... Or maybe they all took their dogs to the Good Guys Car Show in Pleasanton this weekend to keep them company while they sit around for three days in back of their cars. Hey Bowser, why don't you run over there and pick me up some ribs. I'll give you the bones. Hey Ralph, anybody touches ma cah. chase them away. Sick em, Frazier. There are some shows that people just love to show off their dogs...like in Foster City. Winchester Bay (OR), etc. Or maybe they have the Doggy Olympics somepl ace? |
