2255 So. Broadway, Santa Maria, CA (805-925-2075)
This place has been around for 15 years, quietly educating the Central
Coast to the taste of the cheesesteak. The owners are originally from
Newtown Square/Broomall/Ardmore, and they were schooled by the original
owner of the Thunderbird in Broomall. The steaks are delicious - the
only place you can get Amoroso's rolls on the Central Coast (and they'll
pack up some rolls if you want to take them home). They're now serving
chicken steaks along with ostrich steaks (which are really pretty good
and real lean). The hoagies are terrific too, along with some big
burgers and "the Philly special" (a west coast version of a Rueben).
These folks know what they're doing - stop by on your way down the coast
and you won't be disappointed.

Well, unlike me, you can still enjoy all of these places so happy
munching. As for me, I will continue to make my own or I will visit
Stevie's Philadelphia sandwich shop (Forest Ave) in Pacific grove. He
not only sells authentic Philly Sandwiches, he also sells Tasty Kakes.
They are not as good as the aforementioned but they will do for West
Coast.
