Starving Vendors Review of events in Yuma, AZ

3:10 TO YUMA. YEARLY EVENTS

I am just taking the name from the old movie. it means absolutely nothing....just comes into mind whenever I think of Yuma. They have a number of events there that are somewhat popular. We have been doing the one in Early January. The Old Town Jubilee. They also have Lettuce Days, which occurs later in the month. Actually, we do leave home around 3:10 on the Thursday morning before the event and arrive in Yuma mid-late afternoon and set up..

We have done the show a few times now and sales haven't been that great and at times, the conditions have been pretty much intolerable due to the construction. They finally finished earlier this year and it was nice to have all of us set up on the Main Street. The weather was pretty much okay with occasional breezes.

I do not recommend anybody to travel far for this one...too much overhead, especially with high gas prices. I am not sure if we shall be returning next year. It is nice to get out of the ugly, rainy weather in the Bay Area that time of year though. This event is not as disastrous as other events named in my reviews, but one just has to be cautious about high overhead. If we were local, this would be half-ways decent and a joy to do. But your throw in booth fees along with motel and gas and you have virtually no net profit. Not too many vendors really making a lot of money here.

Mostly you have snow-birds in this area and some locals do frequent the event. Snow-birds are tight with their wallets and will only buy what they truly need. We all know that.

They also have the 'March Breezes' Arts & Crafts' show in March, which people say is decent. However, with the economy the way it is, IT IS NOW HIT OR MISS with each and every show.
