2007 Tucson 4th Avenue Street Fair
                                                            Dec 7-9- Dingwell's Parking Lot

Wow...what a weekend.   Dismal Dreary and Disgusting in Dingwell's Den over at 238 E. Fourth Avenue..  Rain in Tucson?  Oh my gosh.  Downright ugly weekend.  Rain on Fri & Sat; wind; sand blowing all over the place.  We've done 4-5 shows here in Tucson, but this was to be our last time.   Just too far to go and get so little in return.  Gas prices way too high for the mis-adventure.  If I want torture, agony and disgust, I'll just stay in California.  Very bad weather.

I enjoyed doing this show in the past but too many obstacles in coming out here.  I wish that this show were closer, but 800 miles is about 500 miles to far for me. I have a lot of acquaintances that I shall miss.   We will be eliminating this event.  We've been over in The Parking Lot for several years, but decided upon doing this event too late and had to go searching elsewhere for a spot.  We could never get onto the street...different promoter that allows 'only' Arts & Crafts.  Uh hum.  However.... well,. you know about that one.

I found that getting around Tucson is not very easy, especially with the construction..detours, road closures, etc.  We did have to travel several miles for decent food and could not keep eating Carl's Jr. all the time because it was located around the corner from the motel.  Had to go quite a ways to Boston Market, Church's Chicken was tricky to get to along with other food establishments.  I'd stay completely away from Tucson for the next 10 years while this construction is going on.  I don't think that much of Tucson anyway.  Surrounding older homes have large, strong fences along their perimeters and I am sure that there is a distinctive reason for that.  Out in the suburbs, they have the newer homes..somewhat inexpensive, but who the heck wants to survive 110 degree summer temperatures.  And I had thought that there was great winter weather in Tucson.  We had rain a couple times in December previously and it was cold as a witches' what-cha-ma-calllit.

There are several lots where there are vendors and the one that we were in was not paved.  Surprisingly, we did have some decent traffic flow in the lot when not raining, but people just kept their hands in their pockets and could care less.  Just zombies going through the motions..simple as that.  Tucson is a mess.  Highway 10 construction is a disaster.  Was shocked when I had to go quite a ways to exit.  Amen.  Good bye.  Hasta la vista, baby.  I won't be back.
