The festival takes place in Tom McCall Waterfront Park (view map), just to the north and south of the Hawthorne Bridge on the west side of the Willamette River.

 

It's easy to reach the site from S.W. Naito Parkway, from the Hawthorne Bridge ramps or from the Esplanade

 

Doctor John, Bettye LaVette, Buddy Guy, Keb' Mo', Charlie Musselwhite, Pinetop Perkins, Etta James and many more. For 21 years the Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival has featured a host of blues legends on Portland's waterfront.

Each year the Bay Area Blues Society and the
Alameda County Fair work together to bring the public a great line-up of notable performers who excel in their craft.   This non-stop  festival features outstanding blues acts found within Alameda County cities such as Oakland, Hayward, San Leandro, Pleasanton, Berkeley and Livermore. Plan  for a full day, enriched by a truly American cultural experience with roots right here at home

 

On July 4th, 2009, The Bay Area Blues Society presents The Red, White & Blues Festival. This festival is entering its 9th year on the Main Stage at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton, CA, and will feature 50 artists throughout the day. Selected artists will be compensated for their performances as well as travel/lodging expenses.

Over the years this one-day festival has presented all styles of American music with special emphasis on blues but also includes cajun/zydeco, gospel, smooth jazz, r&b, and specialty acts such as the Motown review featuring Cleveland Jones & the Temptation Review, a Stevie Wonder impersonator, and some original members of Martha Reeves & the Vandellas.
