Wed.   Received call from the promoters and they said that the show could be cancelled due to the weather.  I don't know about that...wow.  Checked the forecast and we could have 'few showers' on Saturday and okay on Sunday.  Have never seen a show cancelled due to the weather...they all went on rain or shine.

We set up on Friday.  Left home at 2:45 and it took an hour to get there.  Spent 45 minutes putting up the canopy and grids.  We threw our things inside and put up the covers and left at 4:30.  We hit loads of traffic getting there and going home.  The trip home took over 2 hours, but we side-tracked over to Porky's Pizza in San Lorenzo and picked up a couple pizzas.

Saturday, June 6.

GETTING THERE.  We arrived there at 7:30 and was hoping to park in the lot adjacent to the park, where we were able to park last year.  They wouldn't let me, they told me that I could just unload my stuff and I would have to park at Home Depot, 1/2 mile away.  Isn't that a shame.  I saw a bunch of cars parked in the lot and I asked the kid.  He said they were 'city cars.'  "Where's their passes...where's their stickers?"

They should call this the Hercules Teeny Bopper Get Together because that's what it was.  I counted the crowd several times and each time, I counted approximately 1/2 of them as being under the age of 16.  Wow.  Definitely no buying power.  They didn't spend any money at all...maybe a snow cone.

SALES.  Sales were slow all day.  Very sluggish.  There were probably 12-15 actual vendors there and most have them had jewelry and it looked like nobody did any good.  One booth in back of me was selling stuff for little kids and they made a lot of sales; or at least there were lots of people crowded around the booth and their things were selling for under 5 bucks.

THE FOOD.  Looked like there were some decent food vendors there.  I picked up a good Bratwurst (with onions & Kraut) from this guy down below.  I've bought from him several times at other shows.  Sausages are good.  They used to put out a pretty good German potato salad, but they weren't selling it this time.  There was a Filipino food booth there and I wanted to get some toron (fried bananas in 'lumpia' wrappers) and she said that she didn't have any.  Oh well.  So much for them.  There was a sno-cone booth there and they totally kicked butt with long lines most of the day AND it wasn't even that warm there with temps only in the mid-60s and they were located in the shade.  There were a couple other Asian food booths....a Thai (below) and a Chinese.

HUH?  I had a 13-year old oversized kid come into the booth and ask me 'how much for the wooden swords?"  I told him "Ten."  He asked again, "How much?"  I looked at him.  "Ten."  He looked at me.  "What?"   "Ten," I said again.  "Huh," he said to me.  I yelled out "Ten."  He gave me a very puzzled, confused look and put the sword down and walked away.  Wow.

Sunday, June 7.  Beautiful weather but an absolutely excrutiating day as far as sales go.  No further comment.  A couple vendors did decently, but not for the rest of us.  Don't look for me there next year, okay?  Nothing further to say.
